'Evelyn,' a new musical
Evelyn Nesbit first captivated Americans with her beauty and charm, then became the sympathetic focus of the Crime of the Century in 1906, following the murder of her former paramour, famed architect Stanford White, by her unhinged millionaire husband, Harry K. Thaw. The staged reading of a new play by Syracuse playwright Garrett August Heater features music of era, some even written about the murder and trials, bringing a detailed theatricality to the sordid tale. Bridget Moriarty serves as music director and arranger.
